John Hunter
Year of Call: 2002
John practises principally in the areas of administrative & public law, planning, environmental, regulatory & disciplinary and employment law. From 2004-5 John was judicial assistant to Lord Rodger and Lord Nicholls in the House of Lords. In 2008 he was included in Planning Magazine's survey of the best planning barristers under 35.
Since 2008 he has been appointed to the Treasury Panel.
Regulatory & Disciplinary
John also practises in regulatory and disciplinary law. Recent regulatory cases include acting for a local trading standards authority in prosecuting a well-known national car dealership for false and misleading advertising and acting for licensing authorities and applicants in hearings and appeals under the Licensing Act 2003. In the field of disciplinary law, John’s practice in other areas of public and local government law means he has particular interest in proceedings concerning conduct and standards in public office.
