Immigration:    

Ian appears frequently in the Adminstrative Court in cases concerning  a wide range of issues within the area of immigration law, acting on behalf of the Government. He has been a member of the Treasury Panel of Counsel within the regions since 1999.

 

Planning

Ian practices in all areas concerning planning law. He appears at Inquiries, prosecutes and defends statutory challenges and claims for judicial review, appears in the Lands Tribunal as well a providing advice to both public and private sector clients engaged in the planning process. He is a member of PEBA, and has been a member of the Treasury Panel of Counsel within the regions since 1999.

Inquiry experience includes both the promotion and resistance of schemes for housing, employment, energy (including wind farms), waste, infrastructure (highways proposals and motorway service areas), minerals, and retail developments.

Ian's practice includes appearance at Inquiries and proceedings, and providing an advisory service in respect of highways law.

Environmental

Ian practices in all areas concerning environmental law. He appears in proceedings concerned with pollution incidents, prosecutes and resists appeals against notices arising out of statutory nuisances, and provides advice to both public and private sector clients in respect of all matters pertaining to environmental law. He is a member of PEBA, and has been a member of the Treasury Panel of Counsel within the regions since 1999.
