Helen specialises in clinical negligence & personal injury. Helen has a growing following among clinical negligence solicitors and undertakes a wide variety of clinical negligence work. She has particular interest and expertise in cases involving:

  • gynaecological injury
  • urological injury
  • urogynaecological issues

  • psychiatric injury
  • secondary victim claims
  • orthopaedic injury
  • neurological injury; and
  • cases which involve a delay in diagnosing cancer

As a personal injury practitioner, Helen has extensive experience in conducting complex personal injury litigation in her own right. She has also acted as Junior on a number of cases involving catastrophic injury or complex matters of law.

  • negligently performed myomectomy, resulting in vesico vaginal fistula
  • failure to identify and treat basilar tip aneurysm, leading to ruptured aneurysm and associated complications
  • failure to provide deaf patient with interpreter
  • failure to properly anaesthetise during caesarian section leading to extreme pain and psychiatric damage
  • failure to treat schizophrenic patient who required ERCP and went on to develop numerous gallstones and necrosis of the pancreas;
  • death of patient following reaction to prescribed drug azathioprine;
  • negligently performed hip replacement surgery;
  • death of child in A & E, where child wrongly triaged leading to severe delay in treatment;
  • nervous shock claim following death of said child in hospital;
  • wrongful birth claim;
  • delay in diagnosis of cancer.

Inquests:

  • death of child in A & E, where child wrongly triaged leading to severe delay in treatment;
  • suicide of patient under care of NHS mental health services, and discharged from hospital within the previous 24 hours;
  • death of patient following reaction to prescribed drug azathioprine;
  • fatality of pilot at Shoreham airshow;
  • road traffic inquests;
  • inquests arising from industrial accidents.

Personal Injury:

  • multiple serious injury following RTA, including amputation and brain injury;
  • brain injury following fall from ladder;
  • group action by prison officers claiming psychiatric injury;
  • fatal motorbike accident: claim of dependents;
  • claim of serviceman for loss of career opportunity following personal injury at work.
