Michael Rawlinson QC acts in important Mesothelioma case
Michael Rawlinson QC, instructed by the Birmingham Office of Irwin Mitchell, has obtained by negotiation £1.5m in a settlement thought to be one of the largest ever obtained on behalf of a living mesothelioma victim.
The claim was brought against the MOD by a high ranking ex Army officer who had been exposed whilst on active service both at home and abroad.
Quite apart from the size of the settlement, the case was made interesting by the agreement secured with the MOD in respect of the 'lost years' element of future earnings whereby only a 25% deduction (as opposed to the usual deduction of 50%) was made for the Claimant's own necessary costs of living.
