Costs Team Manager Appointed

Kings Chambers has further enhanced its costs capability with the appointment of Erica Bedford as its new Costs Team Manager with the mandate to augment client relations and improve service provision.  Ms Bedford is a specialist costs practitioner in her own right (she is shortly to be admitted as a solicitor), but she will be focusing on the team’s performance rather than on her legal work.

Dr Mark Friston, legal author and head of the costs team at Kings Chambers explained: “We are delighted to have someone with Erica’s credentials joining us; it will help us to develop more solid customer relationships and, more importantly, to provide a better service to our clients. As far as we are aware this is the first time a solicitor has ever been engaged in such a role.”

“The main challenge will be to ensure that Kings Chambers remains ahead of the game in a changing environment in light of the Jackson reforms,” added Erica. “We want to be chambers of choice on all cost matters, synonymous with not only exceptional legal ability but a client service which is second to none.  My previous experience as both a cost practitioner and client of Kings will help to ensure this is achieved.”
