Age Discrimination Case Success
 

Colin Bourne recently represented Linda Sturdy who succeeded in her claim of age discrimination against Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. She was awarded what was then the highest ever compensation for injury to feelings in a discrimination claim; in excess of £40000 including interest. The case received national press and television coverage. The tribunal subsequently awarded Mrs Sturdy £147000 in loss of earnings, including further amounts for injury to feelings.

In a Judgment delivered last week Colin has now succeeded in persuading the tribunal to award her indemnity costs. No amount has yet been determined, which has to be assessed by the County Court.
