Emily undertakes contentious trusts and Probate work including disputes relating to the validity of wills, administration of estates and claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.

Emily’s insolvency experience includes bankruptcy proceedings in the County Court, applications arising in connection with the administration and liquidation of companies in the Chancery Division of the High Court and applications brought by insolvency practitioners in connection with property.

Emily is a Chancery and commercial practitioner with a strong academic background and a clear, practical and user-friendly approach to litigation.

Her practice is largely contentious, with particular specialism in Real Property litigation, trusts and inheritance and commercial litigation. She also undertakes insolvency work, in particular in respect of property disputes within insolvency proceedings, directors disqualification proceedings and professional negligence work relating to her areas of practice.

Emily regularly acts in the County Court, the High Court and the First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) Residential Property and Land Registration divisions. Her clients include banks and national limited companies, LPA receivers, local authorities and private individuals. She was appointed to the Attorney General’s Regional Panel in 2012 and is often instructed to appear on behalf of the Secretary of State.

Emily regularly delivers seminars at Chambers events and in-house to solicitors. Recent seminars have included a case law update on Rectification and Indemnity under the Land Registration Act 2002 and a practical guide to adverse possession under the old and new regimes.
