Arianna is regularly instructed by local authorities and private individuals in welfare matters, principally appearing in matters relating to deprivation of liberty. She also acts property & affairs matters, and has acted and advised on matters relating to disputes over deputyships and lasting powers of attorney. She has advisory experience on capacity in other areas of law, such as litigation capacity and testamentary capacity. Arianna acts in mental health tribunals and advises on matters relating to mental health law.
Arianna appears principally in the Court of Protection in matters relating to welfare and health and deprivation of liberty and accepts instructions in many areas of Public Law. She has also worked extensively on community care, and has worked with many local authorities on the implementation of the Care Act 2014.
Arianna qualified as an attorney in the United States in 2008 and practiced there between 2008 and 2012. Arianna served as Senior Counsel to the President of the Massachusetts Senate, where she advised on a range of public law matters and legislation. Arianna also served as an Assistant District Attorney between 2008 and 2010, prosecuting a range of criminal matters. In 2013, Arianna completed her LLM at the London School of Economics, where she studied Mental Health and Mental Capacity law in civil and criminal contexts.
