Prison Law

Kings has prison law expertise at all levels, from parole board hearings to judicial review to the Supreme Court.
Kings members have appeared in some of the leading prison law cases.

Members regularly appear in the Administrative Court on behalf of claimants and defendants.

Members also appear before the Parole Board, conduct inquests arising in the prison context, and pursue related civil litigation including claims for assault, negligence, misfeasance and discrimination on the grounds of race, sex, disability, religion or other unlawful grounds.

We have particular experience in judicial review claims which have an immigration / discrimination / community care overlap.

We also regularly provide specialist advice to local authorities and on immigration issues arising within other forms of litigation including family and personal injury.

We pride ourselves on our excellent service and can offer assistance on an urgent (and out-of-hours) basis where necessary.

We also provide regular training events by way of bespoke in-house events from one or more of our team.
