Profile:

Roger specialises in planning and environmental law, compulsory purchase and valuation. Formerly a solicitor, he has an extensive practice advising and appearing for a wide range of nationally based companies including national housebuilders, major retailers and developers. He has appeared in numerous UDP and Local Plan Inquiries. He also has considerable advocacy experience in both contentious and non-contentious environmental litigation.

Permission on appeal for retail store and offices at Alsager Cheshire for Rellum Estates.

Permission on appeal for 300 houses at Lane End Brickworks Buckley for Redrow Homes. ( ecological and nature conservation issues.)

Permission on appeal for 260 residential units at Weaste Quarry Salford for Ship Canal Properties

Permission on appeal for 160 apartments at Midland Road Stockport for Persimmon Homes.. ( contaminated land and gassing issues.)

Permission on appeal for refurbishment and conversion of listed mill plus 58 new build residential units at Ainscough’s Mill Burscough for Persimmon Homes.

Successfully promoted objections to Wigan UDP to secure 17 hectare business park allocation at Chaddock Lane Boothstown for Peel Developments Ltd.

Permission on appeal for restoration and conversion of  grade 2 * listed paper mill at Hayle Mills Maidstone for P.J. Livesey. ( Listed building and enabling development issues.)

Permission on appeal for residential development at Churchill Works Longton for Pochin Homes. 

Lands Tribunal and compensation matters

Successful compensation hearing Millgate Wigan for CHP Property Group.

Successful Tribunal proceedings in respect of compensation for compulsory acquisition of store on behalf of Somerfield Stores Ltd at Didcot.

Public Path Creation Orders

Successfully opposed creation of public path affecting residential development proposal at Darcy Lever Bolton for Blackthorn (Bolton) Ltd.
