Profile:

Nigel is a member of the Common Law Group specialising in clinical negligence and personal injury cases of the utmost severity. He is a Recorder on the Midland Circuit dealing with in civil matters and is on the list of Crown Counsel (Provincial Panel).

Recent significant cases have included a claim for damages under the Human Right Act on behalf of the bereaved parents of a non-detained mentally ill patient who committed suicide; a successful claim on behalf of a girl who suffered severe brain damage in a road traffic accident whilst acting as a charity volunteer; the defence of a claim for £1.7 million by a man who suffered chemical burns; a claim for cerebral palsy after birth was induced prematurely following a miscalculation of gestational age; settlement for £1.8 million of a claim for failure to diagnose congenital bilateral hip dislocations; several claims for delay in diagnosing cancer; and a Fatal Accident Act claim after a young father being treated for a melanoma died of the toxic effects of high dose interferon given to him in breach of a written protocol.

Nigel is also known for his specialist practice in cosmetic surgery.
