Profile:

Ian practises principally in planning and public law. This includes all aspects of town and country planning (including inquiries, development plan inquiries, prosecutions, injunctive proceedings and section 288 and 289 appeals). Ian is experienced in the areas of housing, retail, compulsory purchase, highways (including the promotion of schemes for the Highways Agency), energy (including wind farms), minerals and waste and judicial review. He also practises in the field of environmental law (including Environment Agency prosecutions and appeals against noise abatement notices). Ian acts in consumer law cases (defending and prosecuting at all levels from sole trader to large corporations and the pursuit and defence of appeals by way of case stated).

He participates regularly in the presentation of seminars to both local authority and private sector clients directed at all aspects of local government and public law work.
