Profile
Gavin McBride practises in personal injury litigation, including catastrophic injury, employers liability, public liability and road traffic accident. He has particular expertise in highway litigation.
Gavin joined Chambers in 2008, having moved from elsewhere in Manchester to concentrate on personal injury litigation.
He commands a large and loyal solicitor base, and provides a comprehensive service, advising at the earliest stages of potential litigation to trial. He accepts instructions from both Claimant and Defendant.
Gavin is developing a keen interest and experience in industrial injury litigation, particularly in relation to asbestosis related injuries, noise induced injury and repetitive strain type injuries.
He is regarded as a highly competent advocate.
Gavin appears in professional regulatory cases before the General Medical Council. He was junior counsel in GMC v Gerstenkorn. He is regularly instructed in substantial fitness to practise hearings.
Cases
Examples of current work include the assessment of quantum in a case involving a young man who suffered a severe brachial plexus injury with orthopaedic and vascular injury to the lower limbs, and representing a mail room worker who developed carpal tunnel syndrome as a result of operating automatic mail machines.
