Launch of Kings Community Care Law & Disability Rights AssociationSam Karim

Chambers is pleased to announce the launch of The Kings Community Care Law & Disability
Rights Association.

The aims of the Association are to promote and develop issues of community care law and disability
rights affecting claimants.  We hope to bring together those involved in these areas of the law and
membership is open to solicitors, academics, advice workers, independent social workers and other
specialists.  Membership of the Association is free.

The Association will act as a forum for the sharing of ideas and information.  The inaugural meeting
on 5th June was attended by representatives from law firms, law centres, citizens advice bureau
and The University of Manchester.  Sam Karim led a discussion on the new Guidlelines for NHS Continuing
Care.

The next meeting will be held on 22nd July 2008 here in Chambers at 4pm.  Sam will lead a discussion on “Community Care: The Basics”.
